US President Barack Obama has been celebrating his 50th birthday amid the country's increasing economic troubles.Despite the just-ended federal debt dispute, latest figures show the US suffered more job losses in July than in the last 16 months and consumer confidence is at an all-time low.
Friday's unemployment figures are expected to bring further bad news.
