Rebel forces entered Tripoli on Sunday 21 August, triggering scenes of celebration among their supporters. Heavy fighting has taken place across the city. On Tuesday Colonel Gaddafi's Bab-al-Aziziya compound - one of the final areas under his control - was overrun by rebels.
