Two Newark women hurt as lightning hits house

Two women have been taken to hospital after a house in Newark was struck by lightning.
Part of a bedroom at the property on Robert Dukeson Avenue collapsed and the roof was also damaged.
The lightning strike also caused a small fire after it spread through electrical fittings.
A spokesman for the fire service said an appliance was sent to the house but the fire had been extinguished before it arrived.
