Surrey mayor thrown from horse

Surrey Mayor Dianne Watts was airlifted to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, B.C., after injuring her spine in a horseback riding accident.
Watts fractured two vertebrae after being thrown from her horse on Saturday.
Laura Ballance, a spokesperson for the mayor, said on Sunday that Watts is in stable condition in hospital.
Doctors are performing a series of tests to determine the severity of her spinal injury, but not much more is known at this time.
"I think that at this point we are just waiting for more details and information and then we will let people know as soon as we have it," Ballance said.
Watts had been on a weekend vacation with her husband and two daughters at a friend's cabin.
